Using your Apple TV, you can rent movies from the iTunes store and watch them on your home TV. Here’s a step-by-step guide to downloading and watching movies from iTunes.
Step 1: Go to your Apple TV menu. Click on Settings, and then select iTunes Store. Click on Location, then scroll down to your region and click on it.
Step 2: Press Menu on your Apple TV remote. Next, click on Sign In and enter your Apple ID and your password.
Step 3: You’ll have to create an Apple ID or convert your AOL account to an Apple ID account in order to proceed. Once you’ve entered your information, you can choose to have the Apple TV remember your username and password for future visits.
Step 4: Hold down the Menu button on your Apple TV remote. If you have a first generation Apple TV, click on Settings and then Update Software. Now you can click on Movies on the main menu. You can pick Rent or Rent HD, and then your movie will start downloading.
Step 5: If you have a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV, start by selecting Movies from the main menu. Choose a category and search for the movie you want to watch. Click on Rent. Your film will start downloading.
Step 6: If you want to watch your movie in standard definition instead of HD, select Settings, iTunes Store, and then Video Resolution. You can switch to Standard Definition from here.
