How to Back up Data Before Resetting a Nexus 7 Tablet

You want to reset, flash or replace your Google Nexus tablet, so, you need to back up your data. If you don't know how to back up your data, you need not to be worried because you can easily back up your data by following the tutorial below.

You can make a backup of the following data: Google Calendar settings, Wi-Fi networks & passwords, home screen wallpapers, Gmail settings, apps installed through Google Play (backed up on the Play Store app), Display settings (Brightness & Sleep),Language & Input settings, Date & Time, Third-party app settings & data (varies by app) on your Google account. Other types of files should be back up by copying them to PC.

    ■Go to the app drawer
    ■ Tap on Settings

    ■ Navigate to the Accounts header & tap on ‘Add Account’ & create/link a Google account of your choice, if you haven’t already. If you have already then head to the next step.

    ■ Tap on the Green ‘Sync button/sync now’ option by your Google account name.

    ■ Check mark on every item in the list. Or you can selectively select your preferable items from the list.

    ■ Return to the main Settings menu screen by tapping the Back navigation button twice.
    ■ On that screen tap on ‘Backup & Reset’ option.

    ■ Additionally, ‘Check mark’ on the option ‘Back Up My Data’.

    ■ By this method, selected data will be automatically backed up over time.


10. If you want to do an immediate backup then go to the account option & tap on the sync button by your account name. It will automatically sync the data to your Google account.
11. And if you want to restore the data in your tablet after resetting or flashing your device then do the same, data will be automatically restored on your device.
12. If you want to backup other files such as music, photos, folders, and videos then you can copy them to your PC via USB cable, memory card, or Bluetooth.
