Luckily, there are a few tricks to keep your laptop juiced most of the time, so you never end up too frustrated and stuck without power. Sound good? Just follow these easy steps and maximize the battery life of your Windows 8 laptop.
1. Plug your laptop in wherever possible.
This one may sound a little obvious, but it is worth mentioning. If you want power, charge the thing. But also think of it as a routine – if you take your laptop out and about a lot, try to remember to have times of the day when you charge it, like when you go to bed. (And always packing the power cable helps as well.)

2. Lower your screen brightness.
This is an easy way to make your laptop last longer. You may be able to see your screen just fine at lower levels than you currently use.

3. Disable apps that are too wasteful.
Have a look at what is running in the background and close stuff – there really is no need to have so much running behind the scenes, so close down what you don't need. It all takes power. And if you are not online, turn off Wi-fi, mute your laptop, and unplug any peripherals you are not using.
