Install the Latest Version of an App That Was Downloaded via the App Store

This Tutorial addresses:
  • Apple
Once you have downloaded and installed any iOS app from the App Store, it is obvious that you would also want to have its latest version as soon as it gets released by its vendor. Since it is kind of impractical to uninstall the older version of the app and download and install its updated version right from the scratch, the Apple App Store allows you to update the installed app to its most recent version available in the store.

In order to update any installed app to its latest versions, your Apple device must be connected to the Internet, and you must be able to access the Apple account.

Once your device has an active Internet connection, here is how you can update any already downloaded app to its latest versions from the Apple App Store:

  1. Press the Sleep/Wake button to turn on your iPhone.
  2. Slide your finger towards right on the screen (screen with the slide to unlock text) to unlock the device.

  3. On the Home screen, tap the App Store icon.

  4. From the opened interface, tap Updates (square with the down-arrow) from the bottom-right corner.

  5. On the Updates window, under the Available Updates section, tap the Update button representing the target app for which you want to download the latest version.
  6. Optionally, you can also tap the Update All link from the top-right corner to update all the apps concurrently.

  7. Once done, you can start using the latest version of your favorite app.
