Build a non-user Facebook page

It’s remarkably easy to make a personal Facebook profile, but what about making a Facebook page for your local business, or making a fan page for a band or some other entertainer? Follow the steps laid out below to build a Facebook page separate from your profile.

Step 1
Visit Facebook’s “Create a Page” page, located at www.facebook.com/pages/create. You will see six basic options for the kind of page you might want to build: Local Business or Page; Company, Organization or Institution; Brand or Product; Artist, Band or Public Figure; Entertainment; or Cause or Community. Choose whichever option applies best to the subject for which you are making the page.

Step 2
Once you’ve chosen a page type, you will be asked to “Choose a category” for that page. Each page type offers a wide range of categories. For instance, if you choose Entertainment from the Create a Page menu, your category options will include Album, Movie, TV Network, and more. Pick the appropriate category, then type the name of your project. Click “Get Started” to move on.

Step 3
On the next page, you will be able to actually go about building your page. This includes adding an “About” section, providing links to your website, choosing a URL for your page, uploading a profile picture, and more. You will also have the option to enter a payment method, so that you can be advertised on Facebook and gain more followers. Make sure to save all the changes you make.

Recap
Once you know where to start, making a non-user Facebook page is every bit as easy as making your original personal profile was. Once you have a URL, you’ll be able to share it and direct others to your new page!
