How Can I Backup Group Texts in Android

If you don't want to risk losing all of your text messages, you can make a backup. This is great for people with long text histories that they want to move off of their phone.

Although there are several backup tools available on Google Play Store to back up text messages, in this demonstration, the SMS Backup+ app is used.

Here is how you can backup individual and/or group SMS text messages using SMS Backup+ on your Android device:

■Turn on your Android device.
■Tap the menu icon to go to the apps list.



■From the app’s interface, locate and tap Play Store.



■On the Play Store page, tap the Search icon (icon with a magnifying glass) from the top-right corner.
■Type SMS Backup in the search field and hit the Search icon from the bottom-right corner to search the app.



■From the displayed results, select the SMS Backup+ app.
■Once the app is selected, from the app’s page, tap the INSTALL button.



■When the SMS Backup+ interface opens up, tap the ACCEPT button.



■Once the app is installed on your device, tap OPEN to launch the app.



■On the opened popup box, tap OK from the bottom.



■From the app’s home interface, tap to check the Connect checkbox from the top.



■Once the Select the Google account popup box opens up, tap to choose your primary Gmail address that you want to connect to the app for your backup. (E.g. jacobmoore001@gmail.com in this demonstration)



■On the next interface, tap OK.



■On the First backup popup box, tap Backup.

Note: Ensure that you have already enabled IMAP on your Gmail account.
After backing up the data, backup of all your SMS is send to your Gmail account. You must access your email account in order to retrieve the backup and/or restore the SMS back to your Android deivce.
