How To Send Facebook Messages without Facebook Messenger App

Facebook requires you to use its Facebook Messenger app to send messages from your smartphone. It didn't always used to be this way; you used to be able to send messages from the Facebook app. A number of users have expressed concerns over privacy and having to use two apps where they previously used one. Still, they want to be able to exchange messages with Facebook friends.

There is a workaround, though. You can send messages from Facebook via your web browser and never use Messenger. It's a lengthier process, but you won't have to download the Messenger app.

    ■Turn on your Android smartphone.
■Tap the Menu icon to display the apps list.
