please may you help me to decide,,which one of these above mentioned cards is better than the other ,,in case both have the same CPU i7 and memory 4gig?

Solution
According to the above link, mobility 5470 (ranked #94) does not perform as well as 4670 (ranked #43).
The 5650 card performs about the same as the 4670, but the 5470 is slower than both.

For comparison, Crisis XGA hi-res framerate is 11 frames per second in the 5470, but 23 frames per second in the 4670.

i am trying to make the same decision. i dont play games on my laptop. i am more concerned about watching blu-rays on the laptop screen and using the HDMI port to output to my high end home theater system.

which vido card is better for that?

The ATI website specifically mentions HDMI 1.3a and bitstreaming capabilities for Dolby and DTS True HD formats on the 5470 info page. The 4670 page does not specifically reference this. Does the 4670 have these capabilities?

I just got off the phone with AMD/ATI tech support. He stated that the 4670 does have the bistreaming capability. He also stated that the 4670 is a higher performance card vs the 5470. He said the way to tell is from the 2nd digit of the model number (4"6"70 vs 5"4"70). He said from 1 - 4 is a low end card, 5 - 7 is midrange, 8-9 is high end. When asked what the difference between the 4000 and 5000 series was, he stated the 5000 series offers:

smaller form factor (i.e. they further miniaturized the chip)

energy efficiency (the 5000 series has capabilities to reduce power consumption when idling)

Support for DirectX 11 (4000 series only supports 10.1)

basically you would need a 5670 or to equal the performance of the 4670 and get the additional benefits of the 5000 series.
