Solved! Fire Cube + AVR + Projector 4k Issue

I have an Amazon Fire Cube connected to a Pioneer SC-LX501 Elite receiver that outputs to a Sony VPLVW600ES 4K Projector.

With the Fire Cube connected to one of the receivers 3 HDCP 2.2 ports, I get no picture and a notification from the receiver saying my tv/device isn't HDCP 2.2 compatible. Eventually the Fire Cube auto switched its output to 1080p and the projector was able to display the picture.

With the Fire Cube connected to a non HDCP 2.2 port on the receiver, I do get picture and audio, and the picture is even 4k, but only when navigating amazons menus and user interface. If I try to actually stream 4k content from Amazon, the Fire Cube displays an error message saying "unable to play UHD. The selected HDMI Port on your tv (or your connected AVR) does not support HDCP 2.2, which is required for 4k Ultra HD playback..."

I am able to stream 4k video from Amazon on an Xbox One S through the same HDMI port on the same receiver/projector set up, so I know the receiver and projector are capable of displaying 4k, and the Fire Cube displays 4k just fine on a separate Sony 4k TV.

Could someone please explain what the issue is here and what I could do to fix it?

Solution
My guess would be that the Fire Cube has some HDCP issues with the receiver or projector.
What happens if you connect the Cube directly to the projector?
Make Amazon aware of the problem and maybe they will have a firmware upgrade to correct for it.
A work around might be to use an HDMI splitter with EDID management like this one
https://www.amazon.com/SIIG-HDMI-Splitter-EDID-Management/dp/B07BVWKDJP
and a 2 in 1 out HDMI input selector for the projector. That would allow the 4k video to go to the projector without going through the receiver and you would still get lossless audio from the other HDMI output to the receiver.
