hey there everybody, so this is my first post on this site, and the post is that I am having a bit of a problem with a old model of a Fujitsu Simens laptop that I haven't used in a long time, so, today, I charged it in the morning, and I tried to boot it up after it has been charged for a bit, I saw that the fans were working, but after a bit, nothing happened, there wasn't anything on screen, anyway, so then I tried to plug in an external monitor, sadly to no avail, then I searched online, and found that sometimes you need to take out the battery and hold the power button, I tried that, and then, it still didn't work, but now the power light turns on, and that's where I'm stuck now, I don't know what to do, I also tried to move the ram sticks around, I also tried fn + f5, I'm not sure what to try and do now, any help is appreciated. Also, when I turn it on without a charger plugged in, it takes a bit more to boot up. By that I mean the fans are silenced at first, then they start buzzing later.

P.S: the model of the laptop is fujitsu siemens amilo d 7820

The battery and power wouldn't be an effect for the display. Not if everything else is working.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

You may also want to try hitting CTRL + SHIFT + WIN + B to try and reset your graphics driver as another possible fix.

First, thank you for responding, I really appreciate it :D, anyway, sadly, pressing ctrl + shift + win + b didn't seem to do anything, so I guess it is the motherboard, I will see if I can buy another motherboard and try to replace it, however, before I do, I want to mention some other things that I forgot to mention in my original post, and that is that if I press caps lock or num lock, it doesn't activate the capslock/numlock light, and also, that usually, if it's not plugged in, it closes automatically after a couple of minutes, and sometimes even when it is plugged in, I'm not sure if these are major or minor things, and sorry I forgot to mention them, anyway, thanks again for your help

ah, I see, well, thank you again for all of your help. I'm not really an expert on laptop stuff so you really helped me :D, anyway, I probably won't be able to afford a new motherboard at this time, however, when I do, I will update here with the results, as for now, I am going to mark your answer as the solution :D Thanks again
