HI,

I recently purchased Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2018 (i7 2.6 GHZ, 512GB SSD, 560X graphics, Touch Bar,).

I am getting around 5-6 Hrs for normal web browsing (no music, no videos & no games).

However, notebookcheck website says they are getting 10-12 hrs based on their tests for web browsing. Techradar website says they got 9 hours and 58 minutes. TomsHardware review says 11 hours and 57 minutes.

*Do i need to complete a certain number of battery charge and discharge cycles to increase my battery life?

*What are the real world battery times for 2018 15Inch i7 MBP (~7400 mAh). ?

*Can you pls suggest how to increase my Macbook's battery life comparable to above mentioned websites?

-----------------------My Settings-------------
1) how many tabs open?
4-5 tabs

2) Using Which Browser?
Using Firefox from day 1

3) Screen brightness ?
Screen Brightness at 55%

4) Is Automatic Graphics switching enabled in Systempreferences>Energy saver> ?
Yes

Solution
Well TBH I did not measure precisely, but like now I am doing light browsing, database locally running and some scripts at 70-ish% brightness. I started with 100% battery and after 1 hour I'm on 93%.

So I am pretty sure at this rate it will be a good 10 hours.

My Macbook is exactly same configuration as yours and I bought it like a week ago. So far I did not see any sort of alarming battery drain, so take it as you will.

Make sure you have Automatic graphics switching enabled in Energy Saver in System Preferences. Also make sure you are not at max brightness for display.

I did not measure mine exactly, but it's sure more than 6 hours.
