Hello,

My laptop is an ASUSROG502GL, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM, Intel I7-7700HQ 2.80GHZ.

My problem on the past days has been that when my laptop is on and I leave it idle for 20 minutes to go do something, I come back and the mouse moves but can't click on any of the open programs, I can click the taskbar and on the windows logo but can't click on "shutdown", only way to shut down is force shutdown. I cant press "Windows" and type in a program to open it, I can open it but the mouse just wont click on anything. So i can open programs but can't close them. Can't click the task manager also.

Also I got these small screen tearings I think in game, like overwatch where I have 70 fps but its like I have 20, I just don't understand how this is happening and I think these two problems might be related.

Thank you

First I would try (if this is the touchpad) to update that driver and then reboot (turn off and back on) the computer and see if that resolves the issue.

If not try starting up the computer in "Safe Mode" and see if the cursor problem happens in there. This will help determine if it is software or hardware related. If it doesn't happen in "Safe Mode", then it is software related.

How to enter "Safe Mode" when booting the computer.

In Windows 8 and 10...

As your computer restarts, press F8 (possibly a few times) to enter "Safe Mode"

a. Press the "F4" key to Enable "Safe Mode".
(The computer will then start in "Safe Mode" with a minimal set of drivers and services.)

( Once "Safe Mode" with Networking starts, Windows is in Safe Mode, with additional network and services for accessing the Internet and other computers on your network.)

c. Press the "F6" key to Enable "Safe Mode" with Command Prompt.
(In "Safe Mode" with "Command Prompt" starts Windows in Safe Mode, with a Command Prompt window instead of the Windows interface. This option is mostly only used by IT professionals.)

Now sign in to the computer with your account name and password. (If you have one set.) When you are finished troubleshooting, you can exit "Safe Mode" restarting your computer.

In Windows 7/Vista/XP...

1. Immediately after turning on the computer, or restarting it (usually after you hear your computer beep), tap the F8 key, repeatedly, in 1 second intervals.

2. The computer will then display hardware information and run a memory test.

3. Next the "Advanced Boot Options" menu will appear.

4. In the "Advanced Boot Options" menu use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking" and press ENTER.
