I think I may have just figured this out while typing, but just double-checking. So my Ideapad 330S came with 8GB from the factory. I wanted to upgrade, but once I opened it up, I saw there was only one slot (with removable RAM). I just got a 16GB Crucial module, and swapped it with what was in the laptop.
Funny thing is, Windows is now showing 20GB! Sweet, right? Looking closer at the memory I removed, I see it's only 4GB. I'm guessing there is 4GB hardwired into the system that's not removable? So that, plus the new 16GB is giving me 20?
