my ASUS UX430U, when on near full load had this wierd noise where it sounds like something is scraping/rubbing against something. the sound is only on the left half on the computer and it sounds like a normal fan on the other half. i was playing crossout when i discovered this issue. the bottom of the laptop is also very hot so is that normal (it has vent on the bottom right where the hinge is)

Solution
No that isn't normal. It would only happen when either there is something interfering with the fan (debris, dust, etc.) or the fan is going bad and needs replacing.

Try (if your device isn't under warranty that is) opening it up and clearing out all the dust and debris from inside the laptop. Especially the fans and vents. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then you should look into replacing the fan.

NOTE: If the laptop is under warranty, then call the manufacturer about a repair/replacement.
