I have a Huawei HG8245H router with a 500mb fibre line. Using the appropriate cable I am getting 450Mbps+ through my laptop via ethernet.
However, I have a Leelbox Android TV box and the best I am getting is about 95Mbps with the same lead. The quality while streaming is pretty poor and is forever buffering. This is with just the one device connected.
Also, through my Samsung UE48H6400AKXXU Smart TV via cable I am only getting about 12Mbps.
This maybe straightforward to someone with the knowledge, but to me, I'm struggling to understand why the tests are relatively slow and why my Leelbox is forever buffering. (I regularly clear the cache and the buffering is with all apps).

Solution
You should not get any buffering with those speeds, seems like the android box is not very good. It may just have a 100MB network card not a gig like your laptop.

TV seems pretty low, how are you testing the connection speed? Did you try rebooting the router and modem?
