How much RAM do you have and how much free space on the hard disk?
If it's running Windows 10 and when it is working, press Control, Shift and Escape together and Task Manager shows up. Under the StartUp tab, disable any programme you don't need until you ask for it. If something doesn't have to start with Windows, it can be opened when you want it to.
