Solved! Screen blacking out when cover moved back.

Toshiba laptop Model C-55-C5381. Screen blacks out when cover is moved back past halfway. Reappears as cover is moved forward. It's getting worse. I suspect a bad connection in the hinge. Are there wires or bands in the hinge. I can take it apart if need be. Thanks, Jim

Yes, there’ll be cables. Just search for display cables and your model number on eBay. You’ll likely find a match. It could be the display cable or display power cable.

You could also open your laptop and see if it is just loose.

Yes, I thought so. Watched a video on youtube and will go after that cable to see if it's loose or broken inside. Very doable. Thanks for your reply.
