Hi, my dedicated GPU is not working anymore - AMD Radeon HD 7670M

I own a HP Pavillion G6 2xxx series, actually i own 2, one i'm sure about has dead GPU since whenever i am installing it's driver's and it reboots you get instant BScreen and can't boot into windows on it..

The current one i am typing from is sort of the good one, but even this isn't flawless, it generally works good, at rare times let's say in about 3 months i would get a restart. but after a reset it performed just fine, and this also allows to pass by the installation process without showing errors at the end of the installation process and gets it's drivers actually installed but it just won't work. (Running windows 8 not 8.1)

I've already tried different OS's, from windows 8-8.1-10 and the only one which has a successful driver installation is windows *8* but it reports in device manager with a caution sign that this device was stopped because it reported problems (Code43)

Maybe somebody can illuminate me on this !! CAN A BIOS UPDATE HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON A SYSTEM ???

Get this...this laptop had an OLD bios, think it was stock, i was missing some options, not anything important just some UEFI stuff and several fixes claimed on HP Site..
Now i made a backup with HP bios software and updated to the newest BIOS... everything looks great.. except.. get this.. after updating, MY GPU Wouldn't work !! WTF
yeah.. and i can't rollback to an older bios, looks like HP locks them down

Now as i'm saying i am not 100% sure of this, but the issue started since the update !!

WHY HP WHY ??? i am so sad and pissed at the same time about this...

UPDATE: Any ways to rig the bios and put an older version on it >>?? i tried everything on HP and looked over videos, nothing works for me.

A BIOS update certainly could cause compatibility/detection issues, but I would fully expect if this was a common occurrence, HP would've addressed.

I'm not aware of any way to 'downgrade' the BIOS on an HP laptop - perhaps you may want to reach out to them, report your issues & see what they suggest.

It's worth power-cycling the battery though. Remove charger & battery, hold power button for ~60seconds and reassemble/reboot.

Wish i'd knew this before updating, they could have posted at least a warning about bios updates and how they rig peoples machines to fail than making them actually work.

i already tried HP support, they said i should do the Win key + B + Power button trick, Caps button blinks twice and nothing happens, and that i should try HP authorized services.. F you ! this thing worked before flashing it with your software.

Well no more HP in the future. Thanks Barty
