Solved! My dell Inspiron 15-7000 Gaming gpu is unstable

I have a Dell Inspiron 15-7000 gaming with an i7-7700hq, 16gb of ddr4 ram, a gtx 1050 Ti, and a 128gb ssd and 1tb hdd. The gpu performance has been shaky ever since I got it last May... and I have gotten to work but only for short periods of time. I have the lastest drivers, I’ve tampered with the 3D application settings, I’ve lowered Game quality, and none of it works at all. When I launch a game, the FPS is 60 and it drops to 30 something, so whatever game I’m in freezes and speeds up constantly which is very annoying. I was wondering what could be causing this and if I have a defective gpu or something else is wrong... this laptop was made in May 2017, so it isn’t that old... I hope I can get it to work right!

I cant seem to find a product matching your description.
Is this new or an older system ?
First thought is heat, if the system is too hot it will be unstable or downclock or some combination of the two depending.
Or you could give more information.
Edit: you edited while I was replying.
Still first thought is heat, install something to monitor like https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
If its not over heating and its plugged in I would return it get a new one
