new RCA tv won't read new Sony DVD player

RCA rlded3956A tv - tv won't read dvd player - cables are correctly attached to the 3 colour coded jacks on both tv and dvd. TV won't pick it up on either TV, AV or Component source.

3 cables connection suggest COMPOSITE VIDEO, u really want to go COMPONENT, which is a 5 cables connection and sounds like what your TV wants.
