I'm on a budget finding a laptop, I've settled with gtx 1060 but I'm confused whether to get i5 7th gen or i7 7th gen. Can someone help? Thanks in advance

Honestly it depends on the specific CPU. Most i5 7th gens are shit and only have 4cores/4threads. Some i7 7th gens are soo bad. The best i5 7th gen is probs i5 7400/7500 and the best i7 7th gen is i7 7700 with 4cores and 7threads. BUT trust me: you are way better of going with an i3 8100 or an i5 8400 for locked cpus. Also, research the specs of the cpu. Give me your country reigion and budget so I can help you search

Agreed. The 8th gen mobile cpus are very nice. 8th gen core i5 have 4 cores 8 threads same as the 7th gen core i7. 8th gen are also more efficient. http

The best bang for buck cpu for intel is i5 8400 as it has 6cores and 6threads. or just go the ryzen path.
