Laptop for Sims 4 - HP vs Lenovo?

The Lenovo actually only has the Intel HD 620 since it has a 7th gen dual core i5-7200u CPU. Both HP laptops have the 8th gen quad core i5-850u CPU with the marginally more powerful Intel UHD 620. Other than a minor clockspeed increase the UHD 620 is more optimized for 4k video playback. I would drop Lenovo because it has a dual core CPU and because it is not cheaper than the HP laptops with quad core CPUs.

The basic difference between the two HP laptops is that one has a 13666x768 resolution screen (HP 15-bs104na, £549.99), and the other has 1920x1080 resolution screen (HP 15-da0038na, £499.99). I can't why the laptop with the 1080p is less expensive, the website does provide any info why that is.

I would simply buy the one with the 1080p screen. I don't really like using laptops with low resolution screens since you see less information on the screen. If playing games at 1080p gives poor performance, then you can always lower the resolution. My recommendation is to buy a second stick of DDR4-2400 SDRAM; it can be either 4GB or 8GB. That is basically to increase the performance of the Intel UHD 620.

Integrated graphics relies on system RAM. When there is only 1 stick of RAM installed it will run in single channel mode (half speed). If two RAM sticks are installed, then it will run in dual channel mode (full speed). Outside of games you will not notice any difference in performance (though Windows will have more RAM to work with if necessary). However, two sticks of RAM can give integrated graphics a 10% to 20% increase in performance... it varies by the specific game.
