it goes off as soon as the supply is cut. it has been happening for a week now and it does not start until i plug into power supply. please give some suggestion
my vaio shuts down asap the power supply is off

Totally agree with previous replies - - rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan which varies according to how they are used and misused.
You need to replace it with a new one of the same specifications.
