I have a surface pro and I have a usb mouse and the keyboard that clicks on. All of a sudden the mouse and keyboard won't work. I can move the cursor with both but neither will let me click on anything, even to save my document. I have tried control, alt, delete and it bring up the menu. When I click on task manager it seems to be trying to get there but just sends me back to my document. I haven't tried rebooting because I'm afraid to lose the document. Any suggestions?

Have you tried using the keyboard and touchpad of the laptop itself rather than the external ones?
