I see a number of people who have trouble with keyboard. Some of the keys don't work (but not always, sometimes they do!). I have uninstalled the keyboard driver and then rebooted; no fix. I DO use an USB keyboard with no problems, but I wonder, would this maybe just be an issue of popping off the keys and cleaning underneath, or would this be an electrical issue where the keyboard needs to be replaced?

Solution
If multiple people report an issue with the on-board keyboard with this laptop, I'd strongly suspect it was a quality or design issue with it vs. users just having dirty keyboards. I'd get with ASUS's tech support and see what the options are on getting another keyboard out of warranty or what other replacement laptop keyboards would work with it.
