So as I stated I just bought a Dell Inspiron 15.The first month or two I had no problems up until now. It shuts off at least once a day and I realized it is not charging. Than I see on the screen when I turn it back on it says "The AC power adapter wattage cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. Please connect a Dell 45 wac adapter or greater for the best system performance." So I have no clue what that means. Also why should there even be a problem with the charger when this is the one that came with the computer? I would appreciate it if someone can explain to me why this is happening.

Solution
if the ac power brick wires are fine and not twicted the output of the brick may be out of spec. on most laptop the power pin can be broken off the system board(broken soilder joint). if that happens the system board can short out. is the power plug moving if not the ports should be fine. as the other person has posted use your dell warranty and send the unit in for rma.
