Hello everyone, I have been having a problem with my laptop where the keyboard will freeze after playing specific games. It will freeze if I play Flight simulator X as well as freeze if I play a game called Blockland, I have had it freeze with other games before like MDK 2. The weird thing about this is that everything plugged into the laptop will work (eg. mouse, headset, mic) but if I unplug them and plug them back in, they will no longer work and no power goes to them. Also, sometimes it doesn’t freeze immediately and will freeze randomly while I’m doing something else. If anyone knows how I can fix this, that would be awesome.

Well the unplug and plug back in not working is pretty common. Many devices are set to require they be plugged in when you have it turned off and then turn it on while they are connected. So that part isn't shocking. For the keyboard you may want to try the following and see if it helps.

NOTE: If you need to type in a password to even get into Windows to do the following, make sure you attached an external keyboard first, to get past the password. Then disconnect the external keyboard and try the following...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should reinstall the driver on its own.

If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting/reconnecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.

You may also want to try updating the Synaptics Driver if the above doesn't help.

Also, be sure you have restarted the laptop (turned it off, not just sleep or hibernate, but off) regularly. Not doing so can also lead to these problems. Contrary to popular belief, leaving it on all the time is not the better option.
