Hi. I’m trying to send audio from my new LG tv (LGOLED55B8PUA) that has all digital outputs (digital optical audio and hdmi) to an old Pioneer SX 850 stereo receiver that only has analog RCA inputs.

Can anyone tell me what type of adapter or digital/analog converter I would need to do this?

(No, the tv does not have rca or 1/8” outputs)

Thanks in advance!

There is no converter that will convert analog 2-channel output source to a digital 5.1 surround sound input if that's what you are trying to accomplish as a home theater system. You'll need a new HDMI/TOSLink capable receiver (even the most basic ones are now). I learned this about ten years ago when I upgraded to an LG HDTV. But what jay posted above will work if you just want to drive two speakers L-R. Otherwise, you'll need a new receiver.
