I can't find that TV manual online.
Try changing the audio output type to PCM if you can find that. The Sony soundbar may not be happy with a bitstream input and the other one is OK with that. Look in the digital audio out menu.
If you can't get it working with HDMI-ARC use the digital audio output instead. It will sound just as good and not take up an HDMI input.
You usually need to turn on either the HDMI-ARC or optical audio output in the TV menu depending on which you used. Both the TV and soundbar have to have ARC for you to use that.
You may also have to turn the TV speakers off and change the audio output type.
Check whether you get sound from other sources too.

Yeah speakers have been set to audio system.
Both TV and soundbar have HDMI Arc input and output.

How do I turn on the HDMI ARC or optical audio output?

Here are the choices in the AV settings menu of my TV
- Manage inputs
- Colors System
- Speakers > set to audio system
- Headphone/audio out > set to audio out(variable)
- Digital Audio Out > set to auto 1-
- HDMI signal format

I've paired the soundbar on my phone and it plays beautifully
I've set up a different soundbar on the TV, it also plays. I'm just wondering why a SONY SOUNDBAR can't play on a SONY TV.
