Laptop Using IGPU Instead Of DGPU (dedicated 1050 and intel UHD 620).
the second i plug my laptop to the wall the laptop is using the 1050 and i got frame boost from 20 to 80 fps. its not only in games also when im in youtube on battery the laptop is using the Intel UHD 620 and on 4k playback it is not smooth to say the least. please dont tell me to go to power managment to switch to max performance because I ALREADY DID. Also i Chcked the BIOS to see if i can change anything and the only thing that is somehow close to my prob is 32 or 64 grapics bit or something. i need someone to help me solve this. Here Is My Laptop Specs:
Intel i7 8550U
Nvidia GTX 1050
1TB HDD
120 SSD

Solution
Okay try going into your nvidia settings menu, then click on manage 3d settings. Under global settings, change the preferred graphics processor to your high performance nvidia processor.

You can also try going to the "adjust image settings with preview" tab and making sure everything is set to performance and not quality.

I know you changed to performance mode, but if you go to "change plan settings" and "change advanced power settings", there should be an option for changing what happens when it is unplugged vs plugged in. I'd also check the graphics settings there to make sure that it is set to high performance also.
