I have a westinghouse DWM40F1G1. I bought a lugulake soundbar and subwoofer combo. The thing only has coaxial connections red and white. I have tried every spot for them to possibly go on this tv. I have even tried the adapter for the headphone jack. I was able to get some sound out of the headphone jack but it was so distorted I could barely hear anything. Help.

Solution
You got distortion when you used the headphone jack because it was overloading the input of the soundbar.
You need to start with the TV volume all the way down, Set the soundbar volume at about half way. Then turn the TV volume up until it starts to distort and then turn it down a bit lower than when it goes away, From now on adjust the volume with the soundbar remote not the TV remote.
If this turns out to be a problem then you could use a speaker to line level converter to reduce the headphone output. These have speaker wire as inputs so you would have to attach a 3.5mm stereo mini plug to these wires. If you get a plug that has screw terminals you won't need to solder to wires.
