Asus X555YA laptop hard drive not showing on boot

So a couple of things I want to find out here.
My Asus laptop has been through hell and back in the last couple years, and it's been sitting for a couple months now. On bootup it goes to bios because it isn't recognizing the hard drive.
Its been that way for a while, but I am able to get it to recognize the hard drive and boot up fine when I hold the bottom right corner of the laptop up (where the hard drive is located).
It'll keep working once it boots into the OS as long as it gets past that initial load & will keep working until the laptop is shut off. So that's all fine and dandy, I've used it for about a year doing that. Now, I have another laptop here so I figured I'd take a look and see if it was just the harddrive failing or what. I put the harddrive from my Asus into an Aspire E1 and it worked fine, put the Acer hard drive in my Asus and same problem. Now, a couple of things I'm curious about. What would be causing a problem like this? Is there something I can take from the Acer to put in my Asus to make it work again without holding the corner up?

Sorry for wall of text, thanks in advance

Sounds like it may have a loose connection in that particular area. Did you check that when you pulled it out? Try putting it back in but make sure everything is good and secure. Then see if it will work. All it takes is a little wiggling and somethings will not work.
