Hey guys! I'm planning to buy a laptop for collage and also for gaming (gaming mostly). I was going to get Acer Nitro 5 with i5-8300h, gtx1050ti and 256gb SSD (because it was around $750, cheaper than all other gaming laptops). But I just saw a Dell Inspiron 14 7472 with i7-8550u, mx150 and 512gb SSD for ~$666. Which one should I get? I could get Predator Helios 300 15.6" but it will draw too much attention.

If you are gaming with PUBG types or other etc, then go for the first one. If you will do more school work and require the space but light gaming (minecraft etc) then the second one.

Thanks for providing your opinion. I researched gaming laptops for 6 months now. But i still can't decide. Also i don't know what school will make me do.
For gaming: I plan to play CS:GO (in higher settings), WarThunder and upcoming Post Scriptum. I don't think i'll play latest triple A titles like Witcher 3. So I think gtx1050ti is the best choice in my opinion. Acquiring them is the biggest problem I'm facing.
i7-8550u + MX150 is easier to get. But it lacks power. Helios 300 would be an overkill for me. So i should stretch out to get below helios 300 and above dell 7472. Any of these will be a huge upgrade for me. Because i'm struggling with i5-5200u with no discrete graphics. It can't even handle cs:go in lowest settings.

I can't find the Inspiron 7472 lower than 1k bnew and $700 refurbished after coupon. Where is $666 price?

I recommend the first one, but where did you find the second laptop? I haven't been able to find it for that cheap anywhere!

I used for my Dell Inspiron 14 for around 2 months now, with very similar specs to the one you're planning to buy. The laptop is quite capable on playing games, i played games such as GTA V, CSGO, Rainbow Six ,and ect with not problem in 1080p with medium to low setting and even medium to high in lighter title games and reaching 60 fps with ease, the temp is not bad either reaching around 70'c and sitting around 3.2 GHz on the CPU but the downside is the battery life is not that good around 4-5 hours depending on workload for college, the track pad does need some practice to get use to, but its good if you're looking for on the go gaming because the laptop it self is not heavy.

What ever you do listen to me, heed my warning! The DELL Inspiron is the very last resort for anything. Don't rely on this computer to withstand the use of a calculator. Stay away, no RUN AWAY FROM DELL PRODUCTS. Worst experience with a computer I have ever had. This thing would lag and freeze up if you even mention downloads around it. It can't handle a grocery list. Serious, my son is 7, and his starter computer that cost 125 dollars new outperforms this DELL, and its made by Tyco. A tickle me Elmo doll has more power, heck they make toaster ovens with more cpu, gpu, and, RAM power. I hate to say this but even a FORD outlast a DELL. Get an asus, or,a ROG phone, you'd be much better off.
