Hi
I am setting up my PC to Onkyo amplifier to get 7.1 HT system.
Here is my setup: I connect the TV to the HDMI outut from PC for display and use toslink connection from PC to Onkyo amplifier for audio.
When I read the forum, an expert says the tosklink connection wont support Dolby TrueHD and recommend to use audio router software. Honestly, I have no idea how its work!
Since I m just a noob, Pls advice me how to get Dolby TrueHD sound and kidly correct me if you doubt my current setup.

Thanks in advanced.

Solution
You have to select HDMI as your audio device to get sound over HDMI.
You have to set the video resolution of the PC so it will pass through the receiver and display on the TV. If the resolution is too high for either you won't get a picture,
Check the input set up menu of the receiver to make sure that the HDMI input you used is assigned to the input name you selected as your source.

In addition to this, you may need to temporarily connect a second display to act as the primary while you get the HDTV resolution set correctly. Once that's done and it's proven to work after a reboot, you can then set the HDTV as the primary display and disconnect your second display.
