So im deciding between these 2 Laptops:
Acer https://laptop.bg/laptops-acer-Aspire_7-acer_aspire_7_NXGP9EX022#characteristics
Asus https://laptop.bg/laptops-asus-FX503-asus_fx503vde4023

Acer: Aspire 7
Intel Core i5-7300HQ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
16GB DDR4 2133 Mhz
1TB HDD
Price: 854 EUR

Asus: FX 503
Intel Core i5-7300HQ
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB
16GB DDR4 2400Mhz
1TB HDD
Price: 844 EUR

I like the TI on the Acer laptop but im really concerned about the thermals, i saw a few videos and under load it can reach 85 degrees. Given that I could undervolt and use a pad cooler, it shouldnt really be a problem right?
The Asus is...well an Asus. It is supposed to have better cooling with a seperate heatpipe and fan for both the CPU and GPU (whereas the Acer has 2 fans and 2 heatpipes and the GPU and CPU share those) and a Fan Overboost button for when I need it. I have no idea of the thermals here as no video evidence under load was present on Youtube, but theoretically, it should be better. Reviews on notebookcheck slam the Acer for the lackluster cooling but still give it better scores than the Asus.

Brand ratings dont help either. I always thought that Asus > Acer but when I look at brand reviews, Acer has a higher score, albeit by a little :/

In short, im interested in good thermals (70-80C under load CPU) and cannot decide which brand to buy. Asus has a GTX 1050 and supposedly better cooling though I have no tests for that and Acer has a GTX 1050 TI and the cooling can be managed with a few tweaks here and there. (limiting the cpu, external cooling pad).

Im really confused because I was settled for the Asus untill I noticed that the Acer received better reviews and were higher up on the brand rankings. Thanks in advance for the opinions!

Well, it's been a wait for you but I hope you see this. I would go with the Acer, the 1050 Ti is significantly better than the 1050, offering much better performance during Triple-A gaming and running e-sports titles with a breeze. And yeah the cooling might not be that good but I'd suggest you select a good environment to game, buy additional cooling pads, or even a fan add-on. The ASUS is nice, you're always gaining that extra build quality that Acer is known to be weak for. I currently use other ASUS products and heck I've had this 144hz monitor for 6 years, I believe it was the first one to come out, and it has held. The RAM is pretty even except for the clock speeds but if you're not worried about the gaming performance for...

All comes down to personal preference. But sorry for the late reply. If you need anything just hmu :)
