Since I've installed the Windows 10 Fall update i cannot adjust brightness anymore. Every time I try to fix anything on my AMD driver (turn it on, update, try new drivers specific for brightness), my screen goes black and I have to turn off the AMD driver in safe modus. Now I have the basic driver installed and on, but I still cannot adjust brightness. Any button or slider does not appear anywhere. Even though I have ticked on the option to reduce screen brightness when my battery is low, nothing happens if my battery is low. I only have a slider when I go into the options for my battery, but the slider does not do anything to my screen brightness. Do you maybe have a fix for my problem? My laptop is a acer

Solution
Try this...

1. Go into "Control Panel" and then "Power Options".

2. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to which ever plan you are currently using and then click "Change advance power settings".

3. In this new window click "Display" to open up the listings under it.

4. Now locate and click each of the following..."Display brightness", "Dimmed display brightness" and "Enable adaptive brightness".

5. Change each of these to the settings you wish, then click the "Apply" button and finally the "OK" button.

6. You should be good.
