On power up of my laptop, the mouse will work just fine but the keyboard will not work unless i restart my laptop at least one time. after that is normally works, just trying to find and address this issue. The other issue is that of the monitor. This laptop is unable to go into sleep mode because when it does, once I try to turn it back on, the monitor refuses to turn back on and I have to power it off with the power button. all my drivers are up to date as far as I know. I have tried many different things. This laptop has been factory reset numerous times and the re-installation of everything did not help it each time. I am also only posting this because the other forums on this website were not of any help due to them being mostly about external pc kayboards rather than laptop keyboards.

Solution
Try this...

1. Go into "Control Panel" and click the "Power Options".
2. Next to the plan that is currently selected click "Change Plan Settings".
3. Now click "Change Advanced Power Settings".
4. Open the "Sleep Setting" and find "Hybrid Sleep"
5. Change/set it to allow.
6. Now click "Apply" and then click "OK".
7. Finally shut down and power up the computer.

For the keyboard, try this...

NOTE: If you need to type in a password to even get into Windows to do the following, make sure you attached an external keyboard first, to get past the password. Then disconnect the external keyboard and try the following...

1. Uninstall the keyboard driver.
2. Reboot the computer (without reinstalling the driver).
3. When it restarts, it should...

If this doesn't work, you may wish to try connecting/reconnecting an external keyboard and see if it works fine. If it does, then it could be the keys themselves that are the issue.

You may also want to try updating the Synaptics Driver if the above doesn't help.

The hybrid power option for the computer monitor fixed the monitor not booting up properly but uninstalling the drivers for the keyboard and letting the computer automatically reinstall them did not help. The keyboard still does not work if I close the laptop and reopen it, or for the first time booting it up for the day. It takes one or two restarts everytime this happens.
