So I'm working on a project on my outdated HP G50-209CA laptop. Part of what I want to do is create a separate power on button. I can't figure out which of the pins on the current power button to short in order to power it on. Would someone be able to provide a pinout of the WARRIOR POWER BUTTON BOARD. Or does anyone else know anything about the power button on this laptop.

Thanks

Of course, it will not beep if you do not press the power button, I told you to short pin 4 and 10 on the flat cable of the power button board, the same thing if you press the power button.
Youre gonna have to figure out, a bit soldering and that stuff since its your project.
And also images would be really helpfull.
But if you need advice consider me as a second option since i dont really wanna damage your laptop in any way.

No, you didnt get that, you need to figure out which wire is going to power button.

For example, you have headphones, you need to figure out which one is left and which one is right. Same for your laptop.
You need to dissasemble power button and put one probe to one wire of power button and probe with other on the pad where the power button is connected to find that wire of power button, and that way you have to find other wire.

Just dont do it with battery and power adapter soo you dont damage your multimeter or laptop.
