hello.I have a lenovo t61 laptop with a new replacement battery. The old battery charged but went from 100% to 0% in 5 minutes so ibought a new one.MY problem is that when i charge the new battery,It goes to 100 and when it is discharged down to 28 or 25% it shuts down like i take off the battery.I use windows xp and i have also windows 7 installed. On windows xp ,i have installed the lenovo power management and on windows 7 nothing. On both windows from 25-20% the laptop shuts off and when i plug in the charger it says 0%,Plugged in and charging.I have the right power settings and my low power notification is set to 12%.Is it the programmes fault?Does the power adapter fail to charge the battery ''Good''.Or is it something else?.(My battery is new.I went to battery service and changed the battery with a new one for this problem but it remains). Can someone help??:??:

I think it may be something you have to live with.
Of course you could try another battery....but my guess it that it would do the same thing.

Do you get what you would consider "good life" out of the battery? If so, I'd leave it alone.

Of course I could be wrong about this...but that's my opinion.
I'm thinking that the scaling could be wrong in the software that tells you how full the battery is....or something of that nature.

I think what might be happening is that your battery voltage is dropping below what it takes to keep the computer going and the software should be reading 0% at this point and it's not.
