Free POP Email services that are not US based

I'm looking for a non-US free email service that works on a VPN, and who doesn't configure their services so they can't be white listed (Eg something ISPs here do).

I've put this under privacy because that is the reason I'm looking to close my Yahoo account.

I've tried GMX but the service is unreliable and my VPN provider says they have configured their services so they can't be white listed, meaning I'd have to disconnect from the VPN to send emails which defeats the whole purpose. I've also tried Yandex but again I've been having problems sending emails from time to time that seems to last for days.

I am not looking to send spam. I don't leave messages on the server and I'd probably send 2-3 emails per day.

End to End encryption is also desirable, but so far I've been unable to find a free site that offers this with a POP service.

Recommendations?

You should be disconnecting from a VPN before sending emails regardless. The reason why VPN providers block emails is because users abuse them to send spam, doing so gets VPN addresses blacklisted. So even if you could send emails using a VPN, chances are it will either bounce back or end up in junk.

best option would be to open a shared hosting account with a hosting provider, purchase your own domain and create your own email account. otherwise, just disconnect from the VPN.

With all due respect, that is ox-moronic.

The whole purpose of using a VPN is to protect my communications from over-zealous companies, governments and general nosey-parkers. You wouldn't open and read people's snail mail, why should people be reading my personal emails and confidential emails and then use them to sell me products I don't want or need, or worse, list me as some sort of "T" type person because my opinion offends them???

I am aware of the port 25 blocks. However, these are mitigated using more secure ports and technologies, and ensuring that the email provider is not an open relay.

I have never had a problem until Private Internet Access decided families must share a single email address and jump through hoops to get it then validate it every month.

I've never had a problem with email delivery using secure SMTP (ports 465 and 587 with TLS/SSL etc), over a VPN. Using a VPN doesn't change anything. The email is still an email.

Web based email is insecure by design/definition.

I am on a pension. Sadly, I don't have money to just fritter away on such things when other perfectly workable solutions exist.
