Spilled water on laptop keyboard. Random keys no longer work.

A couple of days ago, I spilled probably less than a fluid ounce of water on my laptop keyboard (MSI GE70). I immediately shut off the laptop, dried what water I saw and left it to dry upside down for 2 days.

It’s now 6 days, and I haven’t been able to find a solution online to fix it. The water spilled around the middle of the keyboard but random keys don’t work/unresponsive. (1 on the number pad, w,i, all over the place)

I’ve tried plugging in an external keyboard and it works fine. I’ve tried to take out the laptop keyboard but one of the screws was stripped and so I have no way of removing it without breaking it.

I’m not sure if there’s is anything else wrong. The laptop starts up fine, the backlit keyboard still turns on. Is this just a simple replace the keyboard? If so, how do I remove a stripped screw? (The rest of them came out easily, just one is stripped)

Solution
You will need to get that screw out so you can remove the keyboard. Then you can see if there is any water in there still. It happens.

If that is the case, then the keyboard would need replacing.
