Looking for gaming laptop, $1500 is my budget. I recently acquired a traveling job and am often at some hotel away from my desktop. I do not need this laptop for work, only entertainment. I'll answer any questions I can. My preferences are:

Windows 10
Large screen (minimum 15", but would prefer bigger)
Best specs for price, I care little about weight and size as long as it is portable.

Notes: I will mainly play games like Dark Souls 1-3, ESO, SMITE, PlanetSide 2, League of Legends, For Honor, and other games. Any advice is appreciated.

I am curious as to what you experts think of

Also what do you folks think of Open Box products?

Acer Predator Helios 300 (full disclosure: it is the laptop I own)

For about $1050 you can get one. It has an i7 7700HQ and a GTX 1060 6 GB. It also has a 256 GB SSD with an open 2.5" drive bay for a big storage drive, 16 GB of DDR 4 RAM, and a 1080p 15" screen (that is a little on the dim side so use it inside). As far as price for performance it is hard to beat, although I hear Dell and Lenovo have taken a crack at it. Dell has their G series laptops specifically the G5 and G7. Lenovo has their Legion series with their Y720. Any of those are going to have the more than capable GTX 1060 and i7 CPUs. That will be plenty of power for any of the games you listed. Also, I think they are all 15"... although the Helios 300 does have a 17...

Looked around and the best GPU for mobile laptops I could find sub $2000 was a single GTX 1070. Just go to MSI or Asus and see if they have a laptop configurator, where you can pick screen size, CPU type (get an i7 IMO), GPU type (gtx 1070 IMO), and an SSD maybe 500gb to 2tb. With configurators you can pretty much get what features you want and when you get it from MSI or Asus you get a pretty good warranty and customer service, you'll need it when spending that much on an item.
