I have a ROG G750jx laptop and using a 21" external monitor simultaneously for editing. would the additional monitor greatly affect the temperature of the GPU?

Solution
No, it shouldn't. Yes, the GPU does get used more because of Windows GDI acceleration, but the amount of usage of the GPU is tiny. At most, might increase the GPU average temp by an extra 1 degree C if at that.

I believe there will be an increase but it shouldn’t be significant and won’t necessarily affect you in the long run. I think it will keep working just fine, but this also heavily depends how much stress your putting it through. Judging from your intentions, i say you will be just fine.
