my blue snowball got recognized , and its in my audio manager in the recording tab

but no matter how loud i yell in the mic , the green bar that indicates sound going through it just wouldn't budge..

windows 7 no problem , go figure windows 10 is full of issues

let me explain what i've already tried:

deleting the device entirely , both in

audio input and audio output tab
&
drivers for audio , video & games

unplugged the cable and inserted into a different USB 2.0 slot , restarted my computer...

tried removing it all through devices & printer through controll panel

that however promped the message that the drivers gets installed , after 5 seconds it says "ready for use!"

still no audio gets picked up , no audio through OBS

why is windows 10 such a crap OS ?
do i seriously have to buy another 100+ dollar worth of a mic and perhaps have the same issues maybe not instantly but perhaps 2 weeks , 4 weeks or maybe even 2 months from now !?

Solution
Sorry you have to go through this. Glad to have you on TomsHardware nonetheless. Microsoft is obviously to be blamed for this.

Please try the following:

Settings -> Privacy -> Microphone -> make sure apps access to the microphone.

Glad I could help! The new update automatically turns it off without asking the user and it's mildly infuriating to say the least. BTW I own the same mic and it's great :)

i thought an update caused the drivers to be corrupted or perhaps didn't respond well with the system , since i hear a lot of things about updates breaking things , didn't thought they would disable it behind the scenes.
& yes its a nice budget mic & the sound quality from it with some tuning is just outstandingly better than any headset i owned , plug and forget , well if windows 10 behaved like an OS and not a big brother atleast :D
