built-in webcam just showing black screen - tried a lot already

Hi,

I've searched through google and the Hp Forums for a fix to my problem but all of the suggestions I found have not worked. I'm working on an Hp Spectre x360 ac013-dx with Windows 10. When I open up the camera app, I get a black screen. When I take a picture, the application locks. I tried in Skype, same thing, black screen and no video. Tried in YouCam, same thing as camera app. Here's what I've done already so please don't suggest these:

1) done clean reboot
2) uninstalled current camera driver and tried reinstalling proper one from hp website. Got an error saying device cannot be found or something like that. Tried just clicking Update Driver and said I have the best driver.
3) tried update driver through software on my PC and used generic "USB Video Device" driver and still nothing. After all these things I've done forced shutdowns and restarts and still nothing.

I've probably tried some other things that I can't remember now, but I tried everything I found on forums and the web to no avail. I'm not at the stage to chalk it up to a hardware issue yet. But if y'all think so, then maybe it is.
