Hello all. I want to buy a new Chromebook but I don't know much about them. Obviously, I want to buy the most recently released ones but I don't know which ones were released this year.

I googled it and the best I found was this wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromebook

which only lists the release dates and models from December 2010 - October 2017

I want to know if there are any new models released this year from January 2018 - April 2018 (The newer, the better)

I want one with a fast SSD and can use Microsoft Office. My budget is $200-$300

Solution

My local electronic store regularly sells sub-$300 Windows 10 laptops or 2-in-1's. Don't plan to CS:GO on them, though.

If you go with 10.1" device, you'll be able to get free Microsoft Office witih it. Otherwise, Office itself is at least $140-$500 (don't tell me you plan to "borrow" it).

Here is an article about sub-$300 laptops for 2018.
ChromeBooks are not ordinary laptops. You cannot install regular Microsoft Office on it - period. Neither you can install LibreOffice, or any other downloaded application. You can't install any game, either (looking at your nickname). And for CHromebooks, "Fast SSD" does not make a sense, storage in Chromebooks is usually 32gb.

Most new CHromeBooks support Google Play, where you can download Android applications.

Your budget of $200-300 does not give you a lot of options. Go to eg Amazon, the brands to look for are Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Samsung, Lenovo.

What would you recommend besides a Chromebook? Laptops cost $1000+, I need a miniature laptop to use on my stomach in bed that can use Microsoft Office. My budget is only $200-$300
