I am looking to buy a new entry level gaming laptop and the 2 laptops I am looking at have the exact same specs and price except that one is an i5 with a 128gb ssd and the other is an i7 without the ssd. Which one should I go for that wil offer better performance?

P.S. Both the processors are 7th gen

Solution
I would go for i7 variant as both have 1050 GPU, as i see as they are same model, you can put SSD in some near future.
HDD is 7200RPM drive which is good.
Thats my opinion, if you still doubt you can wait for others to answer.
Which i5 and which i7? Can you link?
And you can run Windows 10 without license as long as you want but some features will be cutted.
Did you had any previous PC? As you can ask microsoft to transfer your key to new system (I think its only with windows 10).

The i5 is a 7300HQ and the i7 is a 7700HQ, windows 10 is being provided with the laptop and all other hardware and software specs are exactly the same

On an additional note the HDD rpm on both laptops is 7200

Well the only thing that difference them is the SSD, does the I7 variant come with 7200RPM drive or 5200RPM?
As that can sometimes impact on perfomance in games.
i7 comes with 4cores/8threads (higher turbo boost 3.8), i5 with only 4 cores (3.5).
Is possible to link the products that you want to buy?
