Dell Inspiron 16gb RAM + GTX 1060 6GB or Dell XPS 16gb RAM + GTX 1060 6GB

well from what i know both of this model have issue with power limit throttle once the cpu and gpu work together.the cpu will throttle itself below the base clock and will only be using 15w power.not sure if they already fix this issue but i would suggest looking for another model.(PS my older 7567 with a gtx 1050ti also face this issue even after multiple bios update).

I'm not well versed in computer terminology so I didn't fully understand your message. Are you saying that neither of these are future-proof then or worth buying? What model would you recommend?

Future proof is not really a thing in technology. Laptops will never have "Future Proof" especially dell ones.
You would nearly be better looking at gaming laptops that have adequate cooling.
For example I have had good experience with pcspecialist.

Also looking at those 2 specifically the inspiron is much better in performance out of the 2, the xps model only has a gtx 1050 whilst the inspiron has a gtx 1060. The inspiron is also cheaper as it has the bulkier look too due to the extra cooling it has.

So if it has to be one of those 2 go with the inspiron for performance. (Bear in mind it is much bulkier than the xps)

to keep it simple the cpu wont be able to turbo boost or even maintain it base clock speed when the gpu is being use as well.

So which gaming laptops would you recommend within £1300 range?

Wouldn't this be applicable to all laptops or these two laptops only?

The specs between seem comparable between the Dell and the Helios 300, why does the Helios not have the same throttle issues as the Dell? Is it because of Dell?
