ASUS Keyboard problem

Hi, I have a ASUS R751L (not sure whether it will matter), and my problem is that with the 2 USB keyboards I've used, I've always had problems with them not working properly whenever plugged in.
When I plug the keyboard in, the function keys would work (Mute sound, volume controls, etc.) but any other key would not work.

The only way I can go and make it work again is by uninstalling my USB Hubs in Device Manager, rebooting my PC, and use my keyboard until the next time I unplug it and try to plug it in again, or if I shut the PC down and decide to start it again.

I'm kind of desperate about this situation so if anyone has had a similar issue and solved it or knows how to fix it, I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Sounds like it could be a software issue and not a hardware one. Or even a settings issue. First try updating the drivers. Should that not resolve it, try this...

1. Go to "Control Panel" and then "Device Manager".
2. Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
3. Double-click on the "USB Root Hub device".
4. Now click the "Power Management" tab.
5. Uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option.
6. Click the "OK" button.

NOTE: If there is more than one "USB Root Hub device" listed, Then you will have to repeat this steps for each one of them.

7. Restart the computer and all the ports should work all the time now.

My mouse used to the same but it's been a really long while since it's happened now (it used to light up but the mouse in itself would not work, just like my keyboard)
