On my prior tv I could select the input source using my cable box remote. I recently bought a new Sceptre 32in tv and can not seem to do that. I talked with the cable people and they had me try all the codes they could find for the Sceptre. Some of them did not work at all for the cable remote, Some of them mostly worked but would not allow me to select the input source. With those , when I press the input button on the remote it will bring up the source input list, but not allow me to scroll thru to select a different one. Have tried pressing the input button multiple times (which is what I do on the other tvs), have tried the up and down buttons, the number button etc, none seem to work. So, seems on this tv I have to use the tv remote to change the source. I switch between the tV and roku, so that means I have to use 3 remotes- cable box remote ,tv remote ,and roku remote.
Guess it is not a huge problem, but is inconvenient.
Anyone know hot to fix this?.

cable company is Cable One
tv is 32 in samsung: X322BV-SRR
have the tv plugged into one of the hdmi ports and the roku into another

Thanks

NOTE: I found out that if I go to my TV menu and turn CEC on, that pressing any button on the ROKU remote will switch to the ROKU, but I can not switch back without using either the Source or HDMI button on my tv remote.

You might be able to use a Logitech Harmony remote to combine all three remotes.
Their remotes are programmed on their website so you have access to their huge database of codes. If they don't have a make and model you will be instructed to teach each button into the remote. The next user will find them online.

Thanks for the response. At this time, I prefer to not have to spend money on another remote, especially if I am not sure it will work. If using 3 remotes becomes too much of a problem, I may check it out. For now, I really would like to find out if there is a way to make the cable remote do it, if not I will deal with 3 remotes.
Thanks again for trying to help.

I'm having the exact same issues. I've yet to find any solution to the Cox input issue. It's driving me crazy, I have to use so many remotes and I don't want to have to buy yet another one. I sure hope someone has a solution or that Cox would come out with a new remote that would work. If I get an answer I'll definitely post it.
